Captiva or Capteeva... either way. NEW CAR!

Ya... we bought a new car. Kinda fun. Annndd... I learned some people really tick me off.

We decided we better buy a new car  given the fact that Shaun's escape was getting mighty close to 100k miles and that there were some odd things going on with it. You know the Angry Birds chirp? If you have no idea what im talking about just imagine a high pitched bird making a short quick chirp randomly.  Shaun's car actually made this sound. Pretty regularly too. I think it was a belt... and i know because im a mechanic... right.... Point is, the car was sounding odd.

Deciding on what car to buy is actually pretty hard! Especially when what you really want is a truck. Georgia, traffic, gas prices, truck? Not a good idea.  Maybe a jeep, jeep wrangler that is.  We headed out to find Shaun a Jeep as a replacement. We found an awesome 4 door brand new jeep for sale and decided we wanted it. In we went to talk to the guys and started talking money. I hate money. Things got weird at this point. Let me go back a little bit. I went to look at the jeep a few days before while Shaun was at Young Mens. A  guy came out and started talking to me about which ones were best what the prices for each were and that Jeep actually has this rebate program deal where  they take 3,000 off of any wrangler sticker price for any one that buys the new 2013's. Cool.  Ok, now back to the day where me and Shaun are talking money. They took our escape for a test drive and came back telling us that it was worth 6,000 trade in. BULL.  Then he told us that today was our lucky day. "boss man is in a great mood! I have no idea why he is doing this for you but, he decided to take 3,000 dollars off the sticker price up front. He hasen't done this for anyone so this is a one of a kind deal for you!" BULL! I called him out on the whole "just for me" act and he started to get a bit touchy. I told him to take the price down a bit more  and give us more for the trade in. This is a fair thing to do... the man brought us the price break down sheet and we saw that for some reason they sticker price jumped up 4,000 than what was advertised on the car.  Anyway.. long story short there was a lot of back in forth me getting ticked the sales guy getting ticked him saying i must be stupid.. me having a come apart and Shaun being scared there was going to be an all out brawl.... we walked away.

We looked at a few other Jeeps but then Shaun decided we needed something more fuel efficient and something that we could use for when we have kids (in 5 years). So we started looking on line at SUV's and found the Chevy Captiva. We both really liked the looks and decided we would go look at them when the weekend rolled around. Meanwhile a great guy Shaun works with mentioned that his friend owns a bunch of dealerships up in northern Georgia and told us he would hook us up with the owner. It was great! The owner came out showed us the Captivas he had on the lot which was weird because I guess they dont actually sell them in the US unless for fleet vehicles and he ended up having 5 or 6!  We talked to him a bit about hunting and Swapped pictures back in forth for awhile  then started to talk about price. This went so much smoother!  He gave us a great deal and we headed out in our new car! So happy! When the time comes we'll trade in my car and get a truck but for now the corolla and captiva are getting along just great!

After than we stopped at a farmers market and had some WONDERFUL peach ice cream! Then found the biggest bag of peanuts I have ever seen.
Then we listened to some great talks that I will probably post about later.

One thing I have to say about it is that this church is true. I learn more and more everyday about who I am and who I am suppose to be. I love to read my scriptures and the talks from latter day prophets about how I can become a better person and member of the church. I have found that this church not only teaches us of the gospel but it mostly teaches us how to be better. Many people say they need to be better and the church literally gives a road map of how to do that. If you dont know much about the church Shaun and I attend and want to know how to be a happier and  better person with the comfort of a heavenly father and his son who know everything you are going through. Go here  to the LDS site to find out more. Its an amazing felling to have this comfort and knowledge!

oh and.... I'm sitting on my porch in 80 degree weather in shorts while writing this... how's utah today? :) Happy Snow Folks!

Utah?

First of all, I must say I have had a change of heart about dear old georgia this last week. Up until then I REALLY REALLY hated it here. I hated the trees, the traffic, the apartment, the city, the atmosphere, i mean... all of it- I HATED! So, after about 2 moths of hating life I decided it was time to get over it. Ok, I didn't actually decide Shaun did for me.  Poor man has listened to me complain for the last 2 months! Anddddd, i feel bad about that because even though i dont LOVE it here i'm actually really glad we are here. The opportunities for us here are huge! We decided we would move back west at some point but until then good ol' georgia is home.

Here is new positives I have found....

1) We can travel! I mean we are only 4 hours from nashville 5 hours from jacksonville Fl (Cruises) and     super close to Myrtle beach too!
2) There is more people here so that equals more autism which equals more work for me!
3) Shaun gets a free MBA
4) Tons of places to fish and camp around.
5) Our little apartment can feel like home once we decorate it and stuff.
6) We can buy a extremely nice house once we figure out where were going to grad school (housing market is SUPER cheap here).
7) So many fun Concerts!

I can only think of seven, I did try to get to ten I PROMISE!

Anyway, truth is that even though i wont have a horse or a house or a field for a long long time I can do the city life. Its a change but its doable.

just a few more pictures...

Just a few more pictures outside of CNN...i'm telling you this place was AWESOME!
This is the inside of the building. All those windows are the offices and then they have a hotel and food court. It's weird that the CNN building has a mall feel rather than a business feel.
The nicer part of the city. The day we went to the Zoo, Car show and Museum  we walked 11 miles! geesh.
 Vortex!

 Dont see that in idaho!
My little brothers name is Tanner so we had to take a picture and try it! Food not so great though.

My little sister on our last ride together up the hill.... I miss her and "my" horse and MY dog!! oh Idaho...
Our good friend Adam face times with us alot. I love it!

Ok, once Scott sees this im dead... but its hilarious! This is the deal, Have you seen this commercial?

Shaun's Brothers all think its the funniest thing to hit T.V.
Dear scotty even got caught showing us how a farm boy from roosevelt peacocks.
I literally watch this video daily. Hes funny! And Shayla needs to see this... so blame her if your mad Scott...

Cheers Folks!

Just a tourist.

The last 2 weekends we have been tourists. I HATE being a tourist. But this wasn't that bad. Actually... it was pretty fun! We went to the CNN building, Aquarium, World of Coke, Art Museum, Zoo, and the  car show!  busy busy.

The first weekend we hit up the stuff right down town. It was fun. CNN was by far my favorite! its amazing how they do those things and Anderson Cooper? He's real! whoa! Well I cant technically confirm that given that i've never actually seen the man but... i saw the studio he films his shows in so thats pretty close to seeing him right? Meh, just go with it.

Anyway here are some pictures from the last few weeks. Enjoy!

I told Shaun that if he would just farm i'd buy him a new truck... still didn't take me up on it. DANG IT!

 Great shot eh?

For lunch we went and ate at the Vortex... Wild wild place but I loved it!
I had the Fat elvis or something like that.  Peanut Butter, Fried Bananas, Bacon all on a juicy burger! YUM!.... really YUMMMM!

Red room that actually had a horrible meaning behind it.

They say the "secret" recipe is in this vault..... lies.

Shaun and Adam in the kids tunnel.
 HUGE!
This is the CNN room where they look for news.

Tornado...minor event.

NOT!  Tornados are kinda scary! We had 3 rip through Southern Georgia yesterday around 7 O'clock. WHOA!

Heres the deal. I was driving home when my phone started going crazy. When I got to the stop light I looked to see what the deal was it was an alert that said "All Gwinnett county residence, a tornado warning has been issued please take cover immediately" I got a little excited! I love adventure its fun to have something wild happen as long as no one gets hurt! So I called Shaun to see if he got the alert and he told me he was just going to run at work and would be fine because thats actually where the company has the employees head in a emergency like this. But he wanted to know where i was going to go, I just figured I'd head up to the apartment. sure its on the 3rd floor of our apartment building with lots of windows and nothing to hide under in case evil twister does come to see us but... I was really tired and I didn't really know where else to go.  I headed up plopped down on the couch and turned on the news. For about 5 minutes the were really freaking me out but then all the sudden the warnings stopped for our area and we were just told to stay inside because of hail and sever thunderstorms but down south needed to get to shelter immediately because there was a tornado that would probably be touching down at any second. WHOA!

It was pretty wild and I guess at least one death which is so sad. It's wild here, it can go from sunny and warm to tornado in seconds. Geesh. So much for a warning!

Here's a couple pictures of the damage down south.

Crazy.

Hello Georgia Rain

Rain.. So freaking much of it!

It's pretty gloomy here. Some days we see sun but most of the time its cloudy and rainy.  I actually like the rain but the clouds... forget them. It's actually pretty cold too. Weird right!? 45 degrees is freaking chilly when the humidity goes to your bones. But, one thing is for sure it aint no -15 out there so im thankful for that!  :)

Adjusting for me has been really hard. I cant seem to fall in love with this place. I feel like im finally starting to feel at home then all the sudden BANG I want to go home. I'm just not made for the city life.

  • I hate the traffic! 30 minutes to go 4 miles? NO THANK YOU!
  • Atlanta- as in down town.. SO SCARY!
  •  So many Trees!
  • No mountains!
  • Humidity makes it hard for me to breathe
  • And  I miss going to school. Online kinda sucks!
  • So gloomy
  • Always busy doing nothing... I dont get it.

Positives?
  • The trees are confining but really pretty.
  • Weather is mild
  • Lots we could  do (time/money)
  • Cool places I could run
  • Super friendly people
SO... its nice here just not AWESOME here. I want a cow, a horse and a dog. Shaun wants a tractor, some corn and some land to rome. Ha, when Shaun gets home from work we always seem to find ourselves at the computer looking up farming or ranching videos on youtube.   But, this is were were suppose to be. So we'll stay. I'll buck up and his job will take him far. I'm glad to be here I just miss the country... Alot

p.s. I'm not feeling a February update anymore. maybe tomorrow!

Here's the deal. Today, is a blogging kind of day. I have 2 great things to update you on.
