Captiva or Capteeva... either way. NEW CAR!

Ya... we bought a new car. Kinda fun. Annndd... I learned some people really tick me off.

We decided we better buy a new car  given the fact that Shaun's escape was getting mighty close to 100k miles and that there were some odd things going on with it. You know the Angry Birds chirp? If you have no idea what im talking about just imagine a high pitched bird making a short quick chirp randomly.  Shaun's car actually made this sound. Pretty regularly too. I think it was a belt... and i know because im a mechanic... right.... Point is, the car was sounding odd.

Deciding on what car to buy is actually pretty hard! Especially when what you really want is a truck. Georgia, traffic, gas prices, truck? Not a good idea.  Maybe a jeep, jeep wrangler that is.  We headed out to find Shaun a Jeep as a replacement. We found an awesome 4 door brand new jeep for sale and decided we wanted it. In we went to talk to the guys and started talking money. I hate money. Things got weird at this point. Let me go back a little bit. I went to look at the jeep a few days before while Shaun was at Young Mens. A  guy came out and started talking to me about which ones were best what the prices for each were and that Jeep actually has this rebate program deal where  they take 3,000 off of any wrangler sticker price for any one that buys the new 2013's. Cool.  Ok, now back to the day where me and Shaun are talking money. They took our escape for a test drive and came back telling us that it was worth 6,000 trade in. BULL.  Then he told us that today was our lucky day. "boss man is in a great mood! I have no idea why he is doing this for you but, he decided to take 3,000 dollars off the sticker price up front. He hasen't done this for anyone so this is a one of a kind deal for you!" BULL! I called him out on the whole "just for me" act and he started to get a bit touchy. I told him to take the price down a bit more  and give us more for the trade in. This is a fair thing to do... the man brought us the price break down sheet and we saw that for some reason they sticker price jumped up 4,000 than what was advertised on the car.  Anyway.. long story short there was a lot of back in forth me getting ticked the sales guy getting ticked him saying i must be stupid.. me having a come apart and Shaun being scared there was going to be an all out brawl.... we walked away.

We looked at a few other Jeeps but then Shaun decided we needed something more fuel efficient and something that we could use for when we have kids (in 5 years). So we started looking on line at SUV's and found the Chevy Captiva. We both really liked the looks and decided we would go look at them when the weekend rolled around. Meanwhile a great guy Shaun works with mentioned that his friend owns a bunch of dealerships up in northern Georgia and told us he would hook us up with the owner. It was great! The owner came out showed us the Captivas he had on the lot which was weird because I guess they dont actually sell them in the US unless for fleet vehicles and he ended up having 5 or 6!  We talked to him a bit about hunting and Swapped pictures back in forth for awhile  then started to talk about price. This went so much smoother!  He gave us a great deal and we headed out in our new car! So happy! When the time comes we'll trade in my car and get a truck but for now the corolla and captiva are getting along just great!

After than we stopped at a farmers market and had some WONDERFUL peach ice cream! Then found the biggest bag of peanuts I have ever seen.
Then we listened to some great talks that I will probably post about later.

One thing I have to say about it is that this church is true. I learn more and more everyday about who I am and who I am suppose to be. I love to read my scriptures and the talks from latter day prophets about how I can become a better person and member of the church. I have found that this church not only teaches us of the gospel but it mostly teaches us how to be better. Many people say they need to be better and the church literally gives a road map of how to do that. If you dont know much about the church Shaun and I attend and want to know how to be a happier and  better person with the comfort of a heavenly father and his son who know everything you are going through. Go here  to the LDS site to find out more. Its an amazing felling to have this comfort and knowledge!

oh and.... I'm sitting on my porch in 80 degree weather in shorts while writing this... how's utah today? :) Happy Snow Folks!
